The Semester Must End

throughout this semester I learned so much stuff that I didn't know Google had to offer. I took plenty of notes on the programs, and I can really see them being useful to my classroom.

My birthday is in January so I had to pick the first blog. This blog reaches a very good point about the country we pledge to and serve. When is this country going to serve its citizens?

The Ipod @ Duke

I think that this proves education is heading in a new direction. I think that this is a brilliant way to boost communication and educational interest in colleges.
I would love to be able to use audio in my classroom. I think that it enhances the student's learning environment and possibilities. I also think that students, especially elementary age children, would be more interested in learning if it was through some musical expression.

Wikipedia

I think Wikipedia will be a credible source of information in the far future. The free use of users to be able to edit or delete information has been rampant and frequent for a long time. This website that poses itself as a credible source of information is using, to its best ability, free speech and free use.
The hope of finding editors by their IP addresses and other decodable manors is giving those of us who want to find 'facts' a chance to actually do so. However, I feel that it will be a long time before Wikipedia, if ever, becomes a good source of information.
"A Cultural Revolution: From books to silver discs"

I think that it is a good idea for schools to focus mainly on computers and other ways of learning. I am for the watching and listening revolution. I believe that it is happening and is only going to increase in the future. I would still like to have a little reading in my classroom, but I definitely feel that it is important to incorporate computers because so much has changed in the new millenium, and lots of things require computer knowledge.

Creating Links and Adding Pictures to a Blog

To add a link to a page we can either write the html code or use the tools that Blogger has built in. The tool to add a link looks like a link of a chain. This is a link to The Fischbowl , a blog used in training teachers in technology at the Arapahoe CO High School in Littleton, CO.

Here is a picture of Arapahoe High Scool.

powerpoint

My powerpoint presentation is all about me, from birth to boyfriend, and babies; this is my life.

ACCESS

A grant is one of the resources included through ACCESS. This grant includes 85,000 for purchase of 21st century classroom equipment, training, and support. Another resource of this site is that its web based which is good for the fact that sooner or later the world will revolve around web based learning. ACCESS will help teachers prpare future successful college students.
Everything about this program is technological. This is good because as I find now most of college work is computer based. The resources of ACCESS will have students and teachers well trained for today's computer era.

ALEX in the classroom

As a teacher i would use the ALEX website to better process my lesson plans. I would also use it to help me expand my lesson plan ideas. The lesson plans link would do me justice especially in my firstyear or two because as a first year teacher I could see it being somewhat difficult. With the help of the ALEX website I probablt would stand less of a chance at reaching that point of stress that takes most first year teachers out of the field.
I would also use the ALEX site to make sure my activities were grade appropriate. I would use the web links link to look up websites that I could use as assignments, being that the classroom may soon revolve around computers. The courses of study link would help me know that I am in the right direction of what I'm trying to teach.

week 3 ALEX

The ALEX website gives you courses of study, web links, lesson plans, and othe rinformation and activities that can be resourceful to the classroom. The courses of study vary from English Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Arts Education, Foreign Languages, Health Education, Driver and Traffis Education, Physical Education, Technology Education, and Career/Technical education. You can go into the Lesson Plans link and it will basically walk you through plotting out a grade appropriate lesson plan. The Web Links link is a great resource, not only to teachers, but to administrators, and students as well.
The ALEX website and all of its resources would be a great source for any teacher, especially a first year teacher. This website will keep you on task with your class and assignments. With the help of the lesson plan link and the course of study expands your teaching and activities.

week 2 You Tube Video

The You Tube video is a good source of an informational to update you on the take over of technology. To know that MySpace is large enough to be the 11th largest country,I guess I would be left out of that country. This video puts the thought that if you're not technologically up to date, the world is leaving you. The nubers that this video gives with comparissons to China show that the U.S is already behind.

First week of school

School is back in session. So far I am enjoying my enrollment period at South, with the help of the Jag Tran I have not yet lost my mind trying to find classes. I look forward to this being a good year. I've heard terror tales of South student life, but so far i haven't fell behind and I pray that things stay the same if not improve.
